Galeria ON is located on the attic of an old building. Daylight enters the space via some small windows. The space is empty except for a little table with my computer, a microphone on a tripod and a little mirror on a tripod. I position the mirror and the microphone somewhere in the space. I undress the upper part of my body and position myself in front of the mirror. Then I give an oral description of the way light falls on my head, shoulders and the upper part of my chest. I also describe the changes in the image by my movements or because of changes in the incoming daylight. I transfer the sound recording from my computer into an mp3 player, and place it on the spot where I made the description together with a small loudspeaker and a mark with date and time. During the next days I made more descriptions on various spots in the space. Each spot has its own light fall and acoustics. In the last days my voice sounded from 10 locations in the space, mixed by the acoustics. Sometimes visitors were there during the descriptions, or I made a description in front of a visitor.
Note: My performance referred to a classical portrait buste and was also a tribute to the Polish 19th century painter Malchewsky who's work I saw in the Museum when I first came to Poznan. His bold head has simularity with mine and his selfportrait appears somewhere in the background in most of his paintings.
