Durchschnitt/intersection
The museum is on the ground floor of the building which is resting on concrete pillars.
The spaces between those pillars are bordered by glass walls.
The total space is divided in smaller spaces which are also bordered by the glass walls.
For my performance I made an imaginative line through the building, beginning at the outside front space and ending at the outside space on the rear side, cutting though all the glass walls.
A duration is given for the length of the line, which also gives durations for the resulting parts of the line.
At the beginning of the time-line is a drummer carrying a drum with a timer attached to it.
The drummer starts an even rolling and moves over the line at such a speed that at the end of the given time for that part the first glass wall is reached.
On the other side of the wall is a second drummer with drum and clock.
When the first drummer reaches the wall at the given time, the rolling stops abruptly
At exactly the same moment the second drummer starts rolling inside the building and moves along the line.
When this drummer reaches the next glass wall the first one continues on the line in the adjacent space .....
The rolling moves undisturbed through the building while the sound of the rolling changes with the acoustics of the various spaces.
