During my Red Stable residency in Dublin, I walked through the crowds in the center listening to the special Irish sounds in the talk of people passing by.
When my ear picked up a word or a sentence I directly repeated it in the microphone in order to record it.
Later I wrote down these fragments textually, sometimes phonetically when I did only hear the sounds. Each sentence was also accompanied by a line of the intonation or the dynamics of the fragment. From this 'score' I started practicing the pronunciation of the fragments.
In the space of Pallas Projects I re-vocalized the fragments for an audience while looking at my scores and listening to the recording. I did this for 1 hour in which I was able to reproduce the collection of 600 fragments, notated on 60 A4 sheets which were displayed on a wall in the gallery.
