Leeszaal Rotterdam West invites you for the presentation of two new books written by two artists: liggen by myself and Steeg by Arnold Schalks. liggen contains brief, nearly technical descriptions of bodily positions Jo and I sometimes take on after awakening. Steeg is a chronicle that highlights the rise and fall of five Leiden men who were condemned to each other by an inevitable coincidence. Led by Hugo Bongers and Guus Vreeburg we will talk about our view on the artisanal and conceptual aspects of writing. Steeg appears on 13th of september 2019, published by Primaverapers, liggen is issued in-house. Dutch spoken Leeszaal West Rijnhoutplein 3 Rotterdam. www.leeszaalwestrotterdam.nl also see: http://www.toinehorvers.nl/th/site/work/item/2918 01.10.2019 - 31.10.2019 During the month of october I am guest artist at Arás Eanna, the art centre and studio on Inis Oírr, the smallest of the Aran Islands on the west coast of Ireland. I have been visiting this island since 1971: a naked limestone rock with two small villages and the rough coast of the Atlantic ocean with high waves and violent storms. The residents of Inis Oírr speak Irish. I enjoyed a three month residency in 2013 resulting in various works about observing and describing; performances as well as drawings and descriptions. www.aras-eanna.ie 4/5.11.2019 Talk and workshop National College of Art and Design Dublin 14.12..2019 Performance as my contribution to Pictura Performance Festival PiPe 02.11 - 17.12.2019 Pictura Dordrecht |
