Vier Vormveranderingen (four changes of shape) 1979 -2015
In 1979, after graduating from art school - and inspired by the classical ballet lessons of Frank Polak, theatre classes by Jan Ritsema and developments in performance, conceptual and minimal art - my artistic activities took on concrete form in a series of greatly slowed-down and taken to the extreme, movements of my body; movements that forced me to focus on the relationship between the changes in body shape and tension on the one hand, and space, time and gravity on the other.
Now in 2015, although my body has changed, these movements still present my intentions as an artist.
